Static web sites are often called
brochure sites because they generally exist to inform the
public as to who you are, where you are, and what you do.
The layout and the content are updated manually by writing
code directly into each web page.
Unless you have someone in-house who is
familiar with programming web pages, although static
websites are less expensive initially, they can be more
costly in the long run. If you know you will be updating a
particular area of your website frequently, such as your
portfolio, a database-driven is probably the better way to
go. |
