Affiliate Programs
An affiliate program is when one company pays others to drive traffic and/or sales to its website. Affiliates are paid in different ways:
  • Click-throughs: When a visitor on the affiliate site clicks a link and goes to the site paying for traffic.
  • Commissions: When a purchase is made as a direct result of the affiliate's link.

The majority of companies track click-throughs and commissions through a unique link given to the affiliate. The affiliate may link to the paying site using text links or banner ads. Some companies actually create separate websites for its affiliates. Following are examples of each:

Amazon.com. We are paid a commission whenever someone purchases a book as a direct result of our links.

Our hosting company, http://www.CheepCheepHosting.com, is an affiliate of Wild West Domains, GoDaddy.com's Reseller Division. We are paid commissions whenever someone buys hosting through us. CLICK HERE to sign-up for your own affiliate program today!
